Congratulations to Shane Hurt our October FOM Winner with a 162.6 lb Blue Marlin caught aboard “Encounter”

 – You may have heard whispers, or seen fisherman huddling around the Dana Landing – It’s True

Jeff Zachry has landed a 93 lb Wahoo. This fish may be a new California State Record.

I had a chance to see the fish resting comfortably in the ice box at Sportsman Seafood, as the knives were being sharpened.  Fat – All the way to the tail. Nice Job Zack!

Ken Yasuda’s “Encounter” has weighed a Blue Marlin. Congratulations to angler Shane Hurt who brought the fish to gaff in 32 minutes! Quite an achievement on 40 lb. test drop back. He is also our current FOM leader @ 162.6 lbs

Mickey Cooper, on  a boat out of Southwestern Yacht Club (SWYC), caught a 48.10 lb wahoo on October 3, 2015.  It was a SWYC club record that lasted but just a few days as someone else boated a 57 lb wahoo.  The wahoo bite this year has been excellent, with other MBMC club members also boating wahoo, including crews on Scott’s Johnny captained by Mike Bratton and on Encounter captained by Ken Yasuda.

Very warm water has been holding, so make sure to drag some wired up wahoo bombs!
