OCTOBER PRESIDENT’S MESSAGE

Hi everyone, it’s that time of the month again when you hear from me on what’s been going on with the Club. The big event for this past month was the 45th Annual Charity Heart Tournament. That’s right 45 years of this fantastic event. This was a very successful event financially thanks to the generosity of so many donors and all the raffle tickets that were sold. One of the highlights of the banquet was Josh Walters from the American Heart Association attended and gave a heart felt talk expressing the association’s gratitude to the club for our contributions throughout the years and all the benefits that are provided. Now if we can only get the fish to cooperate next year!

This month’s tournament, The Roy Lively Month Long Marlin Tournament, suffered the same fate as the Heart Tournament with no marlin being caught. So, you know what that means the money will roll over to this month’s “What’s Hot” tournament. Now there is an added incentive to fish in this tournament on Oct 26th and 27th. Link to Entry Form and Rules.

September Fish of the Month winner was Tim Honick with at 44.4# bluefin tuna caught aboard the Doghouse. The Doghouse sure knows how to find the tuna also winning the 1st tuna flag a couple of months ago. Congrats Tim!!!

October’s meeting/seminar will be on the 19th. An announcement has already been sent out and is posted on the website. Please get your RSVPs in. It will be a very interesting one hearing about the latest in electronics. With all the new equipment on the market it is hard to figure out which one is best for you. I want the ones that help catch me more fish. Don’t miss out on hearing what Harold O’Neal from CME has to say!!

Usually at this point in my message I welcome new members. This month we did not have any to welcome but new/renewal membership announcement is just around the corner for 2020. This past year I believe the Club improved significantly in both activities and membership. I anticipate the trend to continue in 2020. Look for the announcement later this month and get your renewals in early to be eligible for a special early bird prize.

So, until you hear from me next month, good fishing, tight Lines and following seas, Dan Muslin
