– It seems there is no choice, they do not come any other way. During the past week I have weighed more than a dozen cows, and at least 50 fish over 100 lbs., with an occasional 60+  thrown in there – but nothing smaller.

You will need the ability to slide up quietly and fire off a long – well placed cast to be successful. Poppers, and surface irons have been working. You must have 50 lb Mono as a minimum, most guys are using straight 80 or 100 braid with 100 lb bite leader.
